EOTD 05 : Purples + Pinks (using UD15)

Believe it or not. I wore this look for a dinner with a friend. With my glasses on. Yeah!!!

The main focus of this look is the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow palette. If you read my previous post here about my beauty dilemma, I asked a question whether I should review two eyeshadow palettes or just share the looks I do with them. I then received a comment from Ngaku, asking me to share the looks I create with the palettes so here's the first - a bright purple and pink look!

My EOTD posts are no longer tutorial-ish where I show you how to place the colors and etc because I am using a terrible camera which distorts the eyeshadow colors and I hate it! Because of that, I find it difficult to take photos of every step I do to achieve a look hence I post only pictures of the final look taken with my iPad.

I do hope this is temporary but... we'll see.

Face
Nothing. :( It's only because the picture below ain't clear. If not... my pores and scars will scare you away. Not kiddin'.

Brows
Shiseido Natural Eyebrow Pencil in Natural Black

Eyes
Stage Prime Time Eye Perfecting Base in 01 Vanila (to prime the eyelids and even out my skin tone)
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (matte white)
Tony Moly eyeshadow in Light Pink
Urban Decay (UD15 palette) eyeshadow in Junkshow (bright cool pink), Evidence (shimmery navy blue) and Omen (shimmery violet)

Cheeks
Nothing.

Lips
Nothing.

Red Juicy Lips

I was inspired, after watching Xiaxue's Angelababy-inspired lips video here, to rock red lips myself.
Here is my own take on achieving red juicy lips.

Lipliner  : RIMMEL Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner 063 Eastend Snob (very nude pinky mauve)
Lipstick : MAYBELLINE Moisture Extreme Lip Color 97 Roseberry (berry red - cool-toned shade)
Lipgloss : NYX Mega Shine Gloss Perfect Red (perfect red, indeed!)

EOTD 02 : Smokey Greens

So, I went to watch Rango tonight with a friend and since the main character in the movie is a lizard/chameleon, I was inspired to do a green eyeshadow look for the night. Teehee.
As always, here are the products I used :

Face
Cellnique Total Daytime Protection 30
ZA Skin Beauty Face Powder in shade 01
The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

Cheeks
Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Powder Pink
MAC Sheertone Blush in Instant Chic

Eyebrows
Elianto Eyebrow Definer Pencil in Brown
Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Rich Sable

Eyes
Stage Prime Time Eye Perfecting Base in 01 Vanilla
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Rocky Mountain Green
Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Graffiti
Kate Gradical Eye Palette in GR1 (the green palette)
MAC Pigment in Melon
Elianto vibrant shadow in Early Dawn
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look mascara (non-waterproof formula)

Lips
Revlon ColorBurst in 070 Soft Nude
Stage Wondergloss Lipgloss in 12 Sophia

Apply an eye primer (Stage Prime Time Eye Base in Vanilla) all over the lids up to the brow bone : for eyeshadow to appear more vibrant and to avoid creasing (especially if you have oily lids).
Apply a green-colored cream eyeshadow (NYX Rocky Mountain Green) on the lids, passing the crease and leaving the inner corner of the eyes open. The cream eyeshadow will act as a sticky base for your powder eyeshadow to adhere to.
Next, pat on a cool green eyeshadow (Urban Decay Graffiti) all over the area where the cream eyeshadow was placed.

Blend out the cool green eyeshadow after patting it on.

Using a dark green eyeshadow (KATE Gradical Eyes green palette - the darkest green), place it on the outer crease of the eye and blend it together with the cool green eyeshadow.

Following that, apply a bright apricot gold eyeshadow (MAC Melon pigment) into the inner corner of the eye, blending it into the cool green eyeshadow.
Fill in the eyebrows (Elianto Definer Pencil in Brown and Revlon Rich Sable) and highlight with a matte off-white eyeshadow (Elianto Early Dawn).
Blend out the harsh edges for a smooth finish.
Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara!

Here's the completed look in different lighting. :D

Hope you all enjoyed this! Till then...

EOTD 01 : Bahamas and Wildflower

As promised, I did a look using the two eyeshadow colors I bought from Stage Cosmetics. You may check out the haul post here. FYI, EOTD is an abbreviation for EYES OF THE DAY. :) Many more abbreviations to come as this blog progresses.

Face
ZA Skin Beauty Two-Way Foundation in shade 20
The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist
Eyebrows
Maybelline Chai Latte eyeshadow quad - the darkest chocolate brown eyeshadow
Eyes
Stage Prime Time Eye Perfecting Base in 01 Vanilla
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk
Stage Cosmetics eyeshadow mono in shades 10 Bahamas and 26 Wildflower
Elianto vibrant shadow in Early Dawn
Max Factor Color Perfection Eyeliner in Black
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look mascara (non-waterproof formula)

Start off with a clean moisturized face.
Apply foundation and set with face mist.

Apply the eye primer all over the lid up to the brow bone area.

Use a white-colored base such as NYX's Milk and apply a thin layer over the lid.

Using a shimmery lavender eyeshadow color, pack it on to the entire lid area, bringing it slightly above the crease with an eyeshadow brush.

With a shimmery taupe and a tapered crease brush, apply the color along the crease, defining the outer-V.

Get a fluffy brush and a matte cream-colored eyeshadow and apply it to the brow bone area. Blend out any harsh edges.

Fill in the eyebrows with a dark chocolate brown color.
Line the upper and lower lash line with a black liner and set it with the same eyeshadow used for the brows.

Curl your upper lashes and then apply mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

The finished look... very simple, everyday wearable look.

THE END! :D

Nude Lipsticks

Nude lipsticks : one of the biggest makeup trends that will never go out of style. I can say that because I myself own a mini collection of nude lipsticks. :P Nude colors tend to draw people who are new to lipsticks and are not yet bold enough to be wearing bright colored pinks or reds, like myself. But however, I do own a couple of red lippies now and shall be rockin' bright lips in no time. I hope. :D

L-R : RIMMEL Nude Delight - REVLON Soft Nude - NYX Honey - NATURAL CONNECTION Apple Blossom
- NYX Rea - NYX Circe

NYX Rea : Milky chocolate brown nude
NYX Circe : Milk tea brown nude (more pink undertone)
NYX Honey : Milk tea brown nude (more yellow undertone)
(Gotta love NYX round lipsticks -  creamy and moisturizing with great color payoff!)
NATURAL CONNECTION Apple Blossom : Beige pink nude. Very pretty color but it totally causes my lips to peel. Big chunky flakes of skin. Bah! Sad, really.
REVLON Soft Nude : My favorite nude lipstick among what I have. Great color, very creamy. Does not dry out lips.
RIMMEL Nude Delight : Very creamy and very moisturizing. A bit too creamy that it does not last long on lips and settles into lines. Great color, though.

I am still finding the PERFECT shade of nude lipstick aka MY-LIPS-BUT-BETTER color with great texture.

Do you own any nude lipsticks? Care to share? :)
